Your cosmetic professional will be happy to discuss your most immediate concerns at an initial consultation. After deciding on a treatment plan, we will set up an initial PRP treatment for you. During the procedure, we draw some of your blood, which is then processed through a centrifuge that separates your platelets (which provide the healing benefits necessary for the treatment).
This platelet-rich plasma (plasma being the liquid part of your blood) is then injected into the area(s) of your face selected for treatment. Post-treatment symptoms tend to be mild, though overall recovery time may take up to 4-6 weeks.
Results typically become apparent about 3-4 weeks. To have the best outcome, we recommend a series of PRP injections that will vary depending on the personalized plan developed for you by one of our medical professionals. We also recommend 1-2 annual maintenance treatments to ensure the longevity of your rejuvenation results.

Common Questions About PRP Injections
Unlike PRP injections used for joint injuries and other musculoskeletal issues, PRP cosmetic treatment tends to have a shorter recovery time (typically four weeks rather than six). It is possible for your face to recover from your treatment in as little as two weeks, depending on your age and other factors.
While the exact amount of blood needed for a given PRP treatment can vary from person to person, you won't have more than 20 mL of blood drawn at a time. Compare that to a single-unit blood donation to the American Red Cross, which draws about one pint (or about 16 fl. oz.) of blood at a time!
As mentioned above, we recommend 1-2 annual touch-up treatments to maintain the great results of your PRP procedure. With that being said, the positive effects of a PRP treatment can last anywhere from 6-18 months. Again, with maintenance sessions, that longevity can be improved substantially.
PRP treatment is not known to have any major side effects. With that being said, since platelets are the clotting agents in blood, you can expect some inflammation, soreness, and (in some cases) bruising in the treated areas after your procedure. On the rarer side, you may experience bleeding, nerve injuries, or even infection, but these side effects are uncommon. Your medical professional will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have at your initial consultation.
While we certainly appreciate the enthusiasm, that high of a frequency isn't recommended. As mentioned above, your face may take up to 4 weeks to fully recover from the effects of your cosmetic procedure, which works against the idea of receiving PRP injections every month. After your initial treatment regimen, you should only need to receive PRP injections about every 6 months for maintenance purposes.
